In 1977, General Maritime established the concept of loss control for the petroleum industry and continues to be the industry leader by adapting to the changing needs and trends in the petroleum trading industry.
General Maritime’s team of full-time surveyors are strategically located around the world to provide loss control and other marine related services. Our operations managers provide logistics and support to our surveyors in the field as well as commercial and technical advice to our clients.
We count oil majors, trading companies, ship owners, terminal operators, refiners, and insurance underwriters amongst our clients, many of whom have used our services for decades.
Every year, General Maritime handles over 1,000,000,000 barrels of crude oil, fuel oils, refined products, and chemicals and attends more than 2,000 vessels globally.
